Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development of the Republic of Serbia

According to the Article 12 of the Law on Ministries ("Official Gazette of the Republic of Serbia ", No. 72 /12), the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development is in charge of public administration tasks related to research, planning and development of primary, secondary and higher education and students’ standard; additional education of children of our citizens abroad; administrative control in preschool, elementary, secondary and higher education and student standard; participation in the construction, equipping and maintenance of facilities of primary, secondary and higher education and students’ standard of interest to the Republic of Serbia; school supervision in preschool, elementary and secondary education and students' standard, supervision of professional work in higher education; organisation, performance evaluation and supervision of the professional development of employees in education; recognition and validation of public documents obtained abroad; promoting social care of talented students, improving of social care for pupils and students with special needs, creating the conditions for the access to and implementation of projects within the competence of the Ministry funded by the EU pre-accession funds, grants and other forms of development aid, and other activities envisaged by law.

The Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development is in charge of public administration tasks that relate to the system, development and promotion of scientific research aimed at scientific, technological and economic development determining and implementing of policies and strategies of scientific and technological development, determining and implementing of the scientific, technological research and development; training of the staff for research; determining and implementing innovation policies, promotion of techno-entrepreneurship, transfer of knowledge and technologies in the economy, development and improving of the innovation system in the Republic of Serbia; regulations in the field of protection of intellectual property rights; developing of the functioning system of the scientific and technological information and programmes of scientific and technological infrastructure, research in the field of nuclear energy; nuclear facilities safety; production and temporary storage of radioactive materials, except in nuclear power plants, as well as other activities specified by law.

The Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development of Republic of Serbia also uses the business offices at 14 Zahumska St. and 12 Njegoševa St. in Belgrade, as well as facilities in multiple locations in the Republic of Serbia, for the needs of regional school departments.
