Practical Information

Language of the Conference

Working language of the conference is Serbian. Translation from the English to Serbian is provided and vice versa.

Venue and Accommodation

The conference is taking place at the Metropol Palace Hotel , 69 Kralja Aleksandra St., Belgrade, Serbia.

For the participants who are provided with accommodation, the organisers will cover solely the costs of a standard room and breakfast at the hotel. The costs of mini bar, room service and other hotel services will have to be covered by the participant.

If you are not staying in this hotel, we would like to recommend you the following options, within walking distance from the Conference venue (Metropol Hotel):

Metropol Palace Hotel is located in the old part of the city in King Alexander’s Boulevard, one of the longest streets in the city. Near the hotel are Tašmajdanski Park, the National Assembly, St. Mark’s Church. The city centre and shopping zone - Knez Mihailova Street, Kalemegdan park and fortress, as well as the bohemian quarter Skadarlija are within walking distance from the hotel. MAPS


Nikola Tesla Airport is at a distance of 20 km from the hotel, while the nearest exit to the high-way is 1.5 km away.

Meals

Meals during the Conference are provided by the organisers. Reception dinner will take place on Tuesday, 26th November at 8 pm at the restaurant of the Metropol Palace Hotel. If you have special food requirements, please send the information in advance to tvetconference2013@gmail.com.

From the airport:



Taxi service

The simplest way to get to the hotel is by taxi. Taxi info desk is located in Baggage Claim hall, and they will help you get vehicle. The city is divided in 5 zones and prices are fixed. The Metropol Palace Hotel is in the first zone and the price of the ride from the airport to the hotel should be around 18 EUR.




Public transport - bus No. 72

It runs from the airport (in front of the Departures area) to the bus stop Zeleni venac in the city centre, in every 35 minutes. The ticket prices are as follows: 75 RSD if bought in a kiosk, 100 RSD for a time-limited ticket or 170 RSD if bought on a bus. Approximate travel time is 30 to 40 minutes.




Shuttle minibus A1

It runs from the airport (in front of the exit of Arrival hall) to the Slavija square, in every 20 minutes. The ticket price is 300 RSD (around 3 EUR) and it is purchased on a bus. Approximate travel time is 30 minutes.


Local Transport:

Metropol Palace Hotel can be reached from the main train and bus station by tram No. 7, from the city centre by trams 26 and 27 (from the Students’ square or Terazije bus stop), from New Belgrade by bus 74 and tram 7. Tickets for public transportation (Bus-plus) are sold at street kiosks.

Money

The currency in Serbia is DINAR (RSD). Money may be exchanged in all banks and post offices, as well as in authorised exchange offices (available at the airport as well). Major credit cards (American Express, Visa and Master) are accepted in hotels, restaurants and most shops. The current exchange rate is EUR 1= 114 RSD (varies daily).

Wi-Fi internet connection will be available at the conference venue.
